Ecoregions

Special needs

The Columbia Gorge hesperian prefers talus or basalt habitat with minimal vegetation cover. In dry, open basalt talus, these snails are often associated with seeps and springs at lower elevations.

Limiting factors

The Columbia Gorge hesperian is especially vulnerable to habitat loss and roadside spraying. This species has limited distribution and is endemic to the Lower Deschutes and/or Columbia Gorge.

Conservation actions

Maintain appropriate habitat. Minimize impacts from talus mining to Columbia Gorge hesperian.
